Reason for Establishment

ChinLin Foundation for Culture and Arts was established in 2003 by Mr. Ya-Huang Lee, a Taiwanese entrepreneur based in the USA, with the intent of fostering connections between dance experts, cultural circles and other art professionals.Mr. Lee are inspired by his beloved daughter and her great love for dance. Mr. Lee has a deep understanding of the Taiwanese dance culture, having been associated through the years with many dance companies and educational institutions from all parts of Taiwan, he is visibly moved by the enthusiasm that dance contributes to the arts. The Foundation’s name itself, “ChinLin”, holds great personal significance for Mr. Lee: “Chin” is named after his mother and “Lin” his father. Together the meaning of “ChinLin” stands for “the gracious rain irrigating the flower, like parents bringing up their children.”ChinLin Foundation supports young choreographers, dancers and dance scholars, as well as those organizations that support dance and dance research. The Foundation is the only one in Taiwan solely for supporting dance.
